Digital Curriculum (C) - May take many forms such as a online version of the textbook, open education resources (Khan Academy), published curriculum (Edgenuity). Curriculum is aligned to standards and provides individual student data identifying each student's strengths and weaknesses. Digital curriculum engages student attention. The incorporation of a Learning Management System (Google Classroom, Canvas) assists the teacher with collecting and analyzing data. (DoK Levels 1 &2)
Guided Instruction (I) - Teacher instruction is data driven. Teacher may teach one-on-one, small group or whole group for instruction dependent on the needs of the students. During the direct instructional time, students are exposed to intervention, activities, labs, investigations, etc. Teacher creates a learning environment that encourages higher level thinking and knowledge. Authentic Assessment (A) - Authentic assessment encourages students to collaborate, communicate, think critically and be creative. Assessments may take the form of a traditional paper and pencil, various online options, or projects each with a reflection component. (DoK Levels 3 & 4)
